The man's a genius. As a young mod I was well-acquainted with The Small Faces, and then most of his Faces' stuff, but it was only comparatively recently that I got into his later work. If you haven't heard "Tell Everyone" and "Done This One Before", to name my two current avourites, you're missing out...but it's not too late! Curse the music business for not treating this man properly. |

I picked up the DVD of The Passing Show a couple of weeks ago and sat down to watch it last night. I'm almost embarrassed to say that while I'm a big music fan and certainly well aware of Ronnie and his music I was dumfounded at the quality and extent of his songwriting. I was absolutely captivated by the film and will now be searching out as much of this extraordinary music as I can find! Don't pass up the chance to watch this amazing breath of fresh air. It'll put a smile on your face and a song in your heart - a true gem!!! |

Fantastic documentary on Norwegian television tonight! At the beginning I thougth I had heard about the Small Faces before, but it was when Rod Stewart & The Faces was mentonied that I knew that I had heard about them before. What a great moment of education and emotions!
After this I promise to check out Ronnie Lane's records.
Greetings. |

Great to see the website and have the DVD. Not only a timely assessment of one of the UKs great songwriters, from the Marriot/Lane parnership through the Faces, Slim Chance and Rough Mix, but also a reminder in these coldly material times of how life has more meaning than ££££££. A week does not go by without his music in this house, and I remember him well from the Bishops Castle days.

And I've no use for power
And I've no use for a broken heart
I'll let this world go by" |
