I've been a huge fan of Ronnie's since the mid-'80s, when I first discovered the Faces records, and wondered who that other guy was. In the '90s I bought all of his solo albums on CD. By 2000, I had everything, including the Live in Austin record. All great stuff, of course.
I wrote a tribute to him in my blog, and a few songs I posted that I hope you all feel do justice to the old charmer.
My wife just bought me the DVD for the holidays. She knows me!
All the best,

I was around 12 or 13 years old when I bought "How Come" from Woolworths for 45 pence! A while later I bought "The Poacher" Both on 7" vinyl. Many, many years later, whilst working for HMV, I ordered myself a copy of "Anymore For Anymore" on CD. For my recent Birthday my Strangely Beautiful wife bought me "The Passing Show" on DVD. The technology changes but the content remains refreshingly wonderful.
It's great to see I'm not alone in my love for Ronnie Lane's music - it's not everbody's cup-of-barley wine!
Your friends are everywhere, Ronnie. |

What can you say that hasn't been already said about the great man, I think the DVD is a beautiful tribute to Ronnie and his work and I really hope that Slim Chance now get together and play some shows so we can all raise a glass together and toast the great man |

I've just purchased, and watched the new Ronnie Lane DVD, the passing show, and I can state, with all sincerity, that I was very moved by Ronnie's contributions, earlier, and during his MS.The whole dvd experience, left me with a feeling of sadness, understanding that this man, contributed so much to the movement of british pop music in the 1960's and 70s'yet received so little acknowledgement in the music world. The contributions by ex slim chance members and Ronnies luminaries, was a joy to behold, yet, in the light of this thoroughly entertaining musical journey through Ronnie's life, I was left deeply saddened by his parting, and drawn to the legacy of music which he left, and to which, I will continue to embrace.

Hi Guys,
Just had my first look at this site, i think it's gonna be great.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to the guys who made The Passing Show, bout time something was put to film, it brings back memories i have of Ronnie when he lived at the Fishpool Farm and the good nights of song i remember at the local pubs The Minors Arms & The Moor Arms albeit i was only 10 or 11 at the time but they are still vivid memories of a great songwriter and genorous man who at the time never really got the recognition he deserved!!
Thanks again Dave P. |

thanks for the lovely messages about our film, should be now available at most retail outlets,on the usual places on the web and also look out for special pub screenings (free) in various Ronnie friendly areas of the UK. cOPIES WILL BE AVAILABLE at these, come along, have a look, have one for the road, catseyes and whitelines, chew the fat, have a laugh and TELL EVERYONE as we need the money as the Fuckers HAVEN'T PAID US (yet) ,still trying to rip him off (no change there then) however the arseholes haven't inherited the earth yet AND will pay us and the family COZ we know where they live and have friends everywhere.
Keep the faith
Rup
P.S. Would also like to take this opportunity to personally thank the wonderfull Ian McLagan who if I hadn't met 8 years ago this film would probably not have been started (he ordered me to make it and it was an absolute honour). Being twats the DVD company forgot to add his name on the sleevenotes of the DVD (they were too chickenshit to show me them for final aproval as they had the audacity to add their own names as exec producers without my permission as well (it's been noted however)
GOD BLESS YOU MATE,Kim couldn't be in better hands with Ronnie and they're certain to be having a good old giggle.
BEWARE OF RIPOFF RONNIE LANE MERCHANDISE, IT'S EVERYWHERE AND IS ROBBING THE FAMILY STILL, CHECK THIS SITE FIRST FOR WHAT'S LEGIT AND WHAT'S NOT or us at www.passingshow.com
GOODNIGHT RONNIE AND GOD BLESS US ALL |
