Good to see all the activity around one of the best and nicest blokes in pop history. Only recently I found out that JAMES McMURTRY, a great artist of these days, works with the rhythm session guys that Ronnie worked with in his Austin days. No surprise James is a rising star. Go out and check him:

Hello all!
We just got back from the Stones in Austin. MAC opened and paid tribute to Ronnie in his opening act with "spoken word" and playing Ronnie songs that he highlights on his new dediaction, "Spiritual Babe". Later that evening, MAC got further into the Ronnie mood with a midnight gig at the Continental where he and the Bumps did a whole host of 'ol Plonk's catalog including, Spiritual Babe, Debris, You're So Rude, Kischty Rye, Glad and Sorry, Itchycoo Park, and then some...
What a great Sunday!!!
Peace to all.

Much love and respect to you Ronnie...you could rock with the best of them yet also craft such beautiful songs. You were a part of what made England great musically. God bless you. |
